Retired Teachers collect 600 boxes of cereal for local food pantries

The Cereal Drive that was held by the Clark County Retired Teachers brought in 600 boxes for food pantries in Clark County. This cereal will help feed families this summer from the Ecumenical Food Pantry, Enrichment Center Food Pantry, and the Gurdon Food Pantry.

Brookshire’s hosted the Cereal Drive and allowed the group to use their covered front to keep the cereal dry since it rained heavily during the collection time. Several businesses in town put up boxes and collected cereal during the week, which accounted for more than half of those brought in.

The Clark County Retired Teachers thanked everyone who participated in helping in any way to make the event a success, and especially appreciate the businesses that encouraged their employees to help feed the hungry by filling a large box.
