UTV rollover kills Prescott woman

One person was killed and another injured in a side-by-side accident in Nevada County.

According to a preliminary fatal crash summary filed by Arkansas State Police, 18-year-old Cavashia Young, of Prescott, was a passenger in a Polaris Ranger that overturned Monday, May 31, on state Highway 371 South near Rosston. State police say the UTV was traveling north on the roadway when it “veered off the right side of the road and overturned.”

The driver of the UTV was Storm Evans, 18, of Prescott. He was transported to Saint Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, Texas, where he was treated for unknown injuries.

Young’s body was being held at the Nevada County Morgue.

Weather and road conditions were listed as clear and dry, respectively, according to Trooper Robert Neese who investigated the accident.

The time of the crash was 12:40 p.m., according to the report.

  1. Every day of the week, I see juveniles riding these up and down the state and US highways. Never have I seen any traffic enforcement. Why? How many people have to die on one of these? I lost a friend many years ago when he drove in front of oncoming traffic.
