A slew of educators, including a principal and all three band directors, are leaving Arkadelphia Public Schools after fulfilling their contracts at the end of this school year.
Following a 50-minute executive session, the Arkadelphia Board of Education reconvened in public Tuesday during its regular meeting to accept the following resignations:
Karla Neathery, superintendent
Andrew Steely, teacher/coach at Goza
Heather Williams, principal at Perritt
Lauren Patterson, fourth grade teacher at Peake
Brian Fowler, assistant band director at Goza
Whitney Smith, assistant band director at Goza
Sarah Fowler, choral teacher at AHS and Goza
The school board also announced three educators who’ve given intent to retire on June 30:
Donald Williams, athletic director and head boys basketball coach
Aaron Seel, band director at AHS
Brenda Moss, paraprofessional at Goza
The board also employed Joan Crowder as a secondary reading teacher at the high school. Crowder will begin her 190-day contract on Aug. 10.
