
Glen Douglas Taylor, age 82, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia, surrounded by his family who cherished his love, kindness and zest for life and loyalty. He was born March 21, 1939, in Waldron, the son of the late Marvin and Neely Mebane Taylor.
Glen, his brother and his mother moved to Arkadelphia when he was 13. He graduated from Arkadelphia High School and then on to study at Ouachita Baptist University. Glen then received his license as a Certified Public Accountant and practiced in Arkadelphia until his retirement.
He served in the Army National Guard for six years, including serving during the Little Rock School integration crisis. Glen was a member of First United Methodist in Arkadelphia and served on numerous committees at the church. He was a long time member of the Kiwanis Club of Arkadelphia. Glen enjoyed fishing, quail hunting, camping and playing croquet in his free time. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Melvin Eugene Taylor.
Glen is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen DeLaughter Taylor of Arkadelphia; one brother, Gaylon Taylor (JoAnn) of Waldron; three nieces, Krista Colquit (Scot), Kara Taylor and Autumn DeLaughter Higgs (John); and one great-niece, Adrianne Colquit Pennington (Stephen).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Randy Rowlan officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
