Henderson students take top honors at NATS

Three Henderson music majors took top honors in their categories at the National Association of Teachers of Singing state conference in Searcy over the weekend. Conference entrants were classified by voice type and years of study. Preliminary rounds were adjudicated via video submissions with semi-final and final rounds taking place on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Harding University.

The Henderson students were:

Cole Moix – second place fourth/fifth Year TBB (student of Bill Higgins)

Christian Sweeney – second place Second Year TBB (student of Bill Higgins)

Tyrell Dennis – third place First Year TBB (student of Laura Storm)

The conference also included a recital and masterclass by soprano Meroë Khalia Adeeb featuring songs of African American poets and composers.
