Garry “B.J.” Johns has announced that he will be seeking re-election as Justice of the Peace, District #8.

He has served as Justice of the Peace since January 2015.

Johns grew up in Amity and is a 2004 graduate of Centerpoint High School. He is the proud father of two beautiful daughters.

Johns currently serves as both the Police Chief and the Fire Chief for the City of Amity. He previously served as a sergeant for Clark County Sheriff’s Department in the Criminal Investigation Division. He is also a certified law enforcement instructor through the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy, and an instructor through Arkansas State Police for concealed handgun carry licensing.

“It has been an honor to serve as Justice of the Peace,” Johns said. “I believe this position should be conducted with fairness, integrity, and professionalism and to listen to all issues brought before me with compassion, honesty, common sense and impartiality. I would greatly appreciate your support and vote in the upcoming election.”
