ARKADELPHIA — Henderson State quarterback Adam Morse was named D2Football’s National Offensive Player of the Week, the website announced on Wednesday.
Morse, who earned his second GAC Player of the Week nod on Monday, earned national recognition after completing 28-of-41 passes for 522 yards and two touchdowns in the Reddies’ 41-38 overtime win over Arkansas Tech on Saturday. His 522 passing yards were the most in a single game by any NCAA DII player this season and the fifth-most in conference history. There have been only two other 500-plus yard performances this season nationally.
The senior from Groves, Texas has made the most of his first year as Henderson’s starting quarterback. Morse ranks seventh in all of NCAA DII with 2499 passing yards and is tied for ninth nationally with 23 touchdown passes. He currently leads the GAC in passing yards, completion percentage (67.8%), passing efficiency (171.6) and total offense (2663).
