Morse earns second GAC Player of the Week honor

RUSSELLVILLE — After an eye-popping performance on Saturday in Russellville, Henderson State quarterback Adam Morse was named Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time on Monday. 

The senior from Groves, Texas, put up massive numbers and came through with a clutch performance in the 41-38 overtime win at Arkansas Tech. Morse finished 28-of-41 for 522 yards and threw for two touchdowns. His 522 passing yards were the most in a single game by any NCAA DII player in the country this season and were the fifth-most in GAC history. His 500-plus yard performance was the first by any GAC player since 2017 and the first by any Henderson State player since 2013.

Morse has been phenomenal in his first season as the Reddies starter. He currently leads the GAC in in passing yards (2499), completion percentage (67.8%), passing efficiency (171.6), passing yards per game (312.4) and total offense (2663). The conference’s weekly award is his second in three weeks.

No. 20 Henderson will look to improve to 8-1 in its final home game of the season on Saturday when it hosts Southern Nazarene at 2 p.m. in Arkadelphia.–
