ARKADELPHIA — The Ouachita Baptist University cross-country teams are set to compete in the 2021 Great American Conference Championships this weekend.

Both championship races will be held Saturday, October 23 in Searcy, hosted by Harding University.

The women’s 5K race will start at 9:30 a.m., followed by the men’s 8K race at 10:30 a.m. The courses are located at 1214 Fuller Lane in Searcy, which is southwest of the Harding campus.

This being the first season for men’s cross country at Ouachita since 2000, the Tiger men have never competed for a GAC crown, but are in contention after a solid regular season that featured one first place finish and two second place finishes. The Ouachita women’s team has also had a successful season so far with three team wins, putting the Tigers in good position to improve upon its highest finish at the GAC championships, which is fifth this past spring.

Live results will be available through macdonaldtiming.com. More information can be found at the meet home page at greatamericanconference.com under the championships tab.
