During last year’s Independence Day Weekend, Arkansas wildlife officers spent 2,137 man hours on the water, contacting nearly 2,000 vessels. They issued 228 warnings and had to issue 107 citations.

Twenty-one Arkansans will have the hunt of a lifetime this fall as they chase elk on public land in The Natural State. Their names were chosen during the Annual Buffalo River Elk Festival in Jasper Saturday.
AGFC adds bear season in Zone 4
Bear Zones 3 and 4 will have season dates of Dec. 10-16, 2022 and a conservative quota of five bears in Zone 3 and 25 bears in Zone 4.

Anyone who sees black bears while enjoying the outdoors in Arkansas is encouraged to log the sighting to help biologists get some baseline information on populations and general locations to follow up with during future scientific research on the species as hunting seasons move forward.
AGFC seeking comments from hunters, anglers on upcoming seasons
This year’s regulations cycle includes more than 120 changes to existing code, and while some of those changes are substantial, many are simplifications or clarifications to existing code to eliminate confusion or complexity.
