Clark County jobless rate down to 3.6%

Clark County’s unemployment rate for April 2026, not seasonally adjusted, was at 3.6%, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released this week by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services. According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 9,893 persons with 9,539 employed and 354 unemployed. The unemployment rate fell six-tenths of a percentage point from the March report of 4.2%. Since the last report, the labor force decreased by 71 persons from 9,964. By JENNIFER SHUTT | States Newsroom WASHINGTON — Congress must act to shore up Social Security during the next six years to avoid an automatic drop-off in benefits in 2032, according to a report released Tuesday.  The annual update on the Old Age and Survivors Insurance trust fund shows that it will “become depleted” in the fourth quarter of that year, a few months earlier than projected in last year’s report.
