Rainfall chances for the area will begin to increase by Thursday, Oct. 1, and persist through the upcoming weekend, the National Weather Service in Little Rock said.
The probability of seeing at least 1 inch of rain is about 60% across Arkansas, with the greatest chances for heavy rainfall across the western third of the state.
However, there is still some uncertainty regarding the timing of the precipitation, meaning perhaps that a slower onset time with widespread rain chances not increasing until Friday.
As of Monday morning, the extended forecast for the Arkadelphia area is calling for cloudy skies to build Wednesday evening, followed by a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday morning. Showers become likely late Thursday, with a 60% chance of precipitation.
The latest forecast, which is subject to change, hints of daily chances for rain from Thursday through Sunday.
Daytime highs through Thursday will be in the upper 80s and low 90s, falling to 82 by Friday. Lows will be in the mid- to low 60s
Most counties in the state, including Clark and counties throughout South Arkansas, remain under a burn ban.
