Arkansas State Police announced the arrest of a 27-year-old Arkadelphia man following an investigation into cyber tips that he was engaging in sexual conversations with minors.
Oran Tobias Taylor was arrested Friday, April 3, 2026, at his residence on Old Military Road after authorities conducted a search warrant on his property.
Special Agents say the cyber tips led them to investigate chat sessions that happened in March on Discord Messenger, a free communication app designed for real-time text, voice and video chat, and used by diverse online communities.
A police affidavit includes excerpts from alleged chat sessions between Taylor and underage victims. In one, Taylor requests a picture from a user claiming to be 14, and upon receipt reveals his own age and threatens to broadcast the photo to porn sites.
There were additional sessions in which the chat would begin with Taylor learning the other user was a minor, then attempting to blackmail them and demand sexual acts, according to the police affidavit.
Investigators subpoenaed the suspect’s IP address and learned his name and service address, prompting the request for a judge-issued search warrant. During the search, Taylor was taken into custody and interviewed at the scene, admitting to using Discord accounts to chat with the purported underage users.
Taylor could face additional charges of possession child sexual abuse material, as he told police there would likely be child porn on the phone.
For now, he’s charged with 10 counts of Engaging Children in Sexually Explicit Conduct for Use in Visual or Print Medium, a Class Y felony.
Taylor made his first appearance in Clark County Circuit Court on Monday, April 6, and was given an arraignment date of May 5. Bond was set at $100,000 plus electronic monitoring and random drug screens.
Formal charges are pending and will be determined by 9E Prosecuting Attorney Dan Turner.
