Charles Edward Giles was born on Nov 26, 1943, to the late Safronia and Lawrence Giles in Little Rock, AR. From this union, three sons and two daughters were born.
Charles developed a strong work ethic early in life. He attended Sparkman Training School in Sparkman, AR, where he graduated. He later attended Southern Arkansas University Tech in Eldorado, AR and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR.
Over the years, he worked as an engineer, welder, and construction worker. Later in life Charles fathered two sons and a daughter. He was married twice in his lifetime and lived a life he loved.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Safronia Giles and Lawrence Giles; his grandparents, both maternal and fraternal; one brother Marvin Giles and two sisters, Bennia Giles Jones and Erma Jean Giles.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children; his grandchildren, Miyah smith and Adian smith; brother, Robert Lee Giles, his nephew, James Henderson; his great nephews, James Henderson, Jr. and Isaiah Henderson; his godchildren, Bobby Bell Jr. and Chasity Russ and long time friend Deborah Leslie.
Visitation will be at Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 12 noon- 5:00 P.M. A celebration of life will be at First Baptist Church in Smackover, AR on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Sparkman, AR.
