A sawmill in Glenwood is set to reopen Monday, March 30, 2026.

Domtar, the company that owns the Pike County mill in Southwest Arkansas, made the announcement in a social media post Wednesday, saying the decision to reopen “reflects recent improvements and the opportunity to support current customer needs.”

Domtar curtailed the operation in October 2025, citing weakened demands in the lumber market. The mill employed about 150 people at the time it shut.

Now, “operations will ramp up in a measured and phased approach over the next few weeks to ensure safe, reliable performance and alignment with current demand,” Domtar said.

The company said it is focusing on operating safely and supporting its employees, customers and communities throughout the restart process, while “managing our assets in a responsible way.”
