Martha Louise “Marty” Goar, age 78, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her home. She was born June 19, 1947, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late James Douglas and Francis Wilson Nix.
Marty was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School. She was a hairdresser in Arkadelphia for nearly sixty years. Marty was a member of First United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia. She enjoyed antiquing in her free time.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of Sixty years, Kenneth Goar, two sisters, Evelyn Campbell and Janice Nix.
Survivors are two daughters, Angela Overcast (Lloyd) of Benton and Beth West (Rick) of Royal, three grandchildren, Sarah “Nick” Overcast (Callie), Samantha Overcast and Mark West (Lindsey), and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Welch Funeral Home with Pastor Zeke Allen officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Hart’s Chapel Cemetery at Curtis.
