Magnolia will soon boast what may be the tallest pine tree anywhere around — though this one won’t be found in the woods.
On South Jefferson Street, adjacent to the Columbia County Health Unit south of the county jail, a four-man Verizon crew from Nashville, Tennessee, has spent the week transforming the town’s newest cell tower into a towering artificial pine.
By the time they finish installing the final synthetic limbs, the monopole will blend a little more naturally into Magnolia’s skyline.
The work is a study in teamwork and trust.
