Grant County woman claims $100K lottery prize

From the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery

Last week, three Arkansas lottery players won big prizes playing instant games.

H. Hays, a Grant County resident, won $100,000 playing X50 High Roller, a $5 scratch-off ticket. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Feb. 10.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K Store 2709996, located at 11209 Highway 299 S., in Leola.

Hays and her boyfriend play Powerball® together every Monday, using the same numbers every time. However, during a recent trip to the Circle K, he encouraged Hays to try a new game.

“Why don’t you play one of those scratch-offs tonight?” he asked.

Hays followed his suggestion and was drawn to the X50 High Roller ticket. She bought two tickets, gave one to her mom, and saved the other for herself, then waited until she had returned home to play. Hays quickly realized she had won a $100,000 top prize on the instant game.

“We’re missing something,” her boyfriend said. “We have to be missing something.”

The shock of the $100,000 prize had not yet subsided as Hays waited in the ASL Claim Center.

Hays feels “blessed” in the wake of her big win. She plans to “get squared away” with her prize.

Another winner, Billy C. of Austin, won $50,000 playing $50,000 Stacked and claimed his prize on Feb. 13.

Billy bought the $20 winning ticket at Dude’s Place, 3811 Highway 38 in Austin, as part of his weekly lottery routine. He stopped by the retailer specifically to purchase a ticket, knowing there were still several top prizes left on the $50,000 Stacked instant game.

“I figured the odds were better,” Billy told lottery officials.

Billy waited until he was home to scratch his ticket, only to discover that his prize was bigger than he could have imagined.

“Oh, looks like I got $50!” Billy said. “Wait, no, $500. No, it’s $50,000!”

His wife, who sat by his side as he scratched, still could not believe his luck. She had to check the ticket herself before the good news finally settled in. Billy also told his son about the win, sending a photo of the winning ticket. His son was equally shocked.

Billy plans to save his winnings.

A third winner, Charles N. of Faulkner County, also won $50,000 playing $50,000 Stacked. He claimed his prize on Feb. 10.

The winning ticket was purchased at Murphy USA 6799, located at 3950 Dave Ward Drive in Conway.

Charles, a regular lottery player, stopped at his usual retailer to buy the winning ticket. He plays both instant games and draw games, including the Natural State Jackpot. This time, $50,000 Stacked caught his eye.

He bought two tickets, winning nothing on the first and landing a $50,000 prize on the second.

“Holy moly!” he said.

No stranger to winning, Charles has previously won $5,000, $11,000 and $50,000 prizes on other lottery games. Still, the big win was a welcome surprise.

Charles first shared the good news with his wife, and he plans to go on a cruise with his winnings.

Seventy-one $50,000 top prizes remain on $50,000 Stacked.

Wednesday Night’s LOTTO Jackpot Climbs to $838,000

The LOTTO jackpot continues to climb, reaching $838,000 for tonight’s drawing.

LOTTO is an Arkansas-exclusive draw game designed to give in-state lottery players another chance to win big prizes. Previous jackpot winners include Yell, Sebastian, Garland and Pulaski County residents. The jackpot was most recently claimed at $1.338 million in October 2025.

Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 9 p.m. Six numbers between 1 and 40 are drawn, plus a Bonus Number. To win the jackpot, a LOTTO player must match the first six numbers drawn in any order.

Once won, the jackpot resets to $250,000 and then increases with each subsequent drawing. If more than one jackpot-winning ticket is sold, the jackpot is split equally among the winners.

LOTTO tickets cost $2 per play, and ticket sales cut off at 8:59 pm. on draw nights.

Tickets are available for purchase at licensed ASL retailers and through retailer apps from ASL’s Play on the Go partners. For more information about the Play on the Go options, visit the Where To Play page on the ASL website.
