William Blake Hendrix was a cherished friend to many and a man who lived life with quiet purpose and genuine heart. He was born on January 7, 1967, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to the union of Lee Guster Hendrix and Mabel Josephine Ivory Hendrix.
William grew up in Arkadelphia, where he distinguished himself as an outstanding student. He was a proud graduate of Arkadelphia High School, where he excelled in basketball and developed a lifelong love for the game. Continuing his education, William graduated from the University of the Ozarks and also attended college in Blytheville, pursuing his dream of becoming a basketball coach.
Basketball remained one of William’s greatest passions throughout his life. He also enjoyed listening to old-school music and appreciated the simple pleasures life had to offer. William was a hardworking man who believed in giving his best—working hard and enjoying life just as fully.
He was a longtime and dedicated employee of Gene Brazeale Lumber Company, where his reliability and strong work ethic were well known and respected.
William transitioned from this life on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 59.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Guster Hendrix Sr.; mother, Mabel Hendrix; sisters, Jo Ann Hendrix, Myra Hendrix, Gussie Mitchell and a brother, Leo Hendrix.
He leave a large family of five sisters, Kathy (Robert) Herron of Little Rock, AR, June (Garland) Poke of Little Rock, AR, Alfreda (Rayfus) Mays of Carthage, AR, Jennifer Hendrix of Little Rock, AR and Kim Hendrix of Arkadelphia, AR and three brothers, Ronald (Lametric) Hendrix of Little Rock, AR, Lee Guster Hendrix, Jr of Little Rock, AR, and Mark Osborne all of Arkadelphia, AR. He also leaves an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. William will be cremated.
Friends and loved ones are invited to visit Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to sign the guest book and reflect on his life and legacy.
