Magnolia man killed in icy ATV wreck identified

A Magnolia man lost his life in a crash Saturday on icy roads following hazardous travel conditions.

Ezron Washington, 40, was one of three passengers on a 2024 Kawasaki KRT1000 that slid off a roadway and overturned, according to a preliminary fatal crash report posted by Arkansas State Police.

Washington died in the crash. The two other passengers—Jeremy Baker, 42, and Eric Guidry, 18—as well as the driver, Roger Guidry, 41, all of Columbia County, were hurt in the wreck. They were transported to Magnolia Regional Medical Center and South Arkansas Regional Hospital for treatment to their injuries.

The vehicle was traveling on Columbia Road 436 about 12 miles east of Magnolia. State Trooper Hunter Scott, who investigated the crash, noted that it was sleeting and that the roadway was icy.

The accident happened at 5:07 p.m. on Jan. 24, 2026.

Washington’s body was taken to RL Funeral Home in Magnolia.

The accident was one of two fatalities reported in Arkansas as a winter storm blanketed the state in sleet, snow and ice. In the Saline County city of Benton, 17-year-old Wyatt Joseph Elrod was killed Saturday afternoon in a sledding accident. News reports indicate that Elrod was being pulled on a sled by a motor vehicle when the sled hit a tree, leaving him critically injured. He succumbed to those injuries after lifesaving efforts were made.
