The City of Arkadelphia’s Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce its first-ever outdoor pickleball tournament, the Polar Paddle Classic, taking place on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Feaster Park. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until approximately 2 p.m.
This unsanctioned, open-age, co-ed doubles tournament will be limited to 16 teams. Each team will be placed into one of four divisions, where they will compete in round-robin play. The top two teams from each division will then advance to a single-elimination bracket to determine the overall champions. Every team is guaranteed at least three matches, ensuring plenty of time on the courts and opportunities for competitive play.
Matches will use a rally scoring system to 11 points, with a requirement to win by two points. Each round-robin match will be capped at 20 minutes. If time expires before a team reaches 11 points, the team with the higher score will be declared the winner. Bracket play will not have a time limit, allowing teams to play to completion.
Tentative Schedule:
- 9:00 – 9:20: Check-In and Warm-Up
- 9:30 – 11:30: Pool Play
- 11:30 – 12:00: Break and Seeding
- 12:00 – 1:00: Bracket Play
- 1:00 – 2:00: Finals and Awards
Because the tournament will be held outdoors, it is subject to weather conditions. In the event of extreme wind or rain, the tournament may be postponed or canceled for safety reasons.
Participants and spectators alike are encouraged to come out and enjoy a morning of fun, fitness, and friendly competition. The Polar Paddle Classic offers a great opportunity to celebrate Arkadelphia’s growing recreation programs and community spirit.
