Lois Jean Kinard, age 84, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Friday, November 7, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Born September 26, 1941, raised by the late Vance and Ruth Smith.
Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first. She enjoyed Sunday dinners, time spent with her loved ones, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks. She had a gentle spirit and a kind heart, and she touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Aline Cleveland Smith, her husband, Jim Kinard, six brothers, Pete Smith, Vance Smith, Mickey Smith, Earl Smith, RV Smith and Freddie Smith, five sisters, Barbara Marion, Annie Hickman, Darnell Collins, Ruthie Fulmer and Bobbie Hubanks.
Lois is survived by one daughter, Pam Palmer (Dean) of Arkadelphia, and one son, Jimbo Kinard (Becky) of Arkadelphia; three grandchildren, Brookes Allison (Charles) of Arkadelphia, Jennifer Shores of Arkadelphia, Kyle Kinard (Kay) of Kirby, and Kamery Abbott (Aaron) of Amity; and great-grandchildren Ledger, Lennix, Lausyn, Aubrey, Blaire, Grady, Eli, Harlee, Tatum, and Tripp. She is also survived by her brother, James “Smokey” Smith (Claudette) of Arkadelphia, and Linda Smith of Arkadelphia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Williams officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Smith, Grant Smith, Stan Smith, Freddie Smith, Aiden Smith and Jeff Smith.
