UPDATED: Camden shooting leaves young woman dead

A Camden, Arkansas, woman died after a fatal shooting on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Kimaria Wilson.

The Camden Police Department requested a homicide investigation from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division. At about 5:45 p.m., Camden police were called to the scene of a shooting at an apartment at 106 Fort Lookout.

Upon arrival, officers entered the apartment and located Wilson, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, Wilson succumbed to the injury at approximately 8:30 p.m. by the Ouachita County Coroner.

Wilson’s body will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where the manner and cause of death will be determined.

The shooting marked the second gun-related incident in Camden in the same day, as the CPD said in a news release that police were dispatched at 4:56 a.m. to the area of 614 Lincoln Center for a report of a subject being shot. The victim, Juquavis Strickland, 23, had been shot multiple times. Police collected several pieces of evidence at the scene, and multiple witnesses identified a person of interest.

Strickland was transported first to Ouachita County Medical Center, then later to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

The press release doesn’t indicate whether the two shootings were related.
