Felony Friday: Arkadelphia man accused of sexual assault with minor

This is a roundup of felony charges filed Feb. 14-28, 2025, by the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office. Some defendants may also have misdemeanor charges against them, but most are not included here. The following names and charges, which are contained within public documents, are gathered from online court records available through ARCourts. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Here’s a rundown of felony cases filed in the past two weeks:

Arkadelphia man accused of sexual assault with minor

Investigators say they found a disturbing photo in a SnapChat account belonging to Damaria Montrel Hendrix, of Arkadelphia.

Hendrix, 19, was the target of rape allegations stemming from a report made in April to the Arkadelphia Police Department. According to court documents, interviews were conducted with the victim and a witness, both juveniles; the witness relayed that Hendrix videoed the incident on his phone.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Hendrix had communicated with the victim through the SnapChat messaging app, and a search warrant obtained and executed for his account revealed a photo of a nude female infant and male genitalia pressing on the baby.

Hendrix is being charged with Distributing, Possessing or Viewing Matter Depicting Sexually Explicit Conduct Involving a Child, as well as second-degree Sexual Assault.

He was arrested Aug. 25. Bond was set at $85,000.

Toilet tampering leads to charges against prisoner

A prisoner being held at the Clark County Detention Center is facing felony charges for allegedly flooding his jail cell.

At the time of the Aug. 29 incident, Keenan Yarber, 36, had been in custody since his July 30 arrest on charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

A jailer conducting cell checks noticed water flowing from under the door of the cell holding only Yarber. Entering the cell, the jailer discovered that Yarber had bent a piece of metal on the toilet, making the plumbing non-functional. An affidavit notes that it wasn’t the first time Yarber had tampered with and caused damage to the toilet.

Yarber was moved from the cell, causing other prisoners to be housed elsewhere, the affidavit notes.

Yarber now faces additional charges of Impairing the Operation of a Vital Public Facility and first-degree Criminal Mischief.

Apartment bust nets nearly 6 pounds of pot

Agents with Group 6 Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Arkadelphia Police Department executed a search warrant Oct. 6 on a residence at Millcreek Apartments, 1603 Welch St.

A police affidavit doesn’t indicate what led authorities to seek a warrant, but notes that they made contact with the resident, 25-year-old Treyuan Smith, prior to entering the apartment.

Smith reportedly told police he had lived at the apartment for a couple of days. The property manager, however, said Smith wasn’t named on the lease.

Upon entry to the apartment officers observed it was “mostly unfurnished” with no beds and only a small amount of food and personal belongings inside.

A search of the bedroom closet revealed a black bag containing five vacuum style bags containing 5.7 pounds of marijuana. Police also confiscated a cell phone they found in the living room.

Smith was subsequently arrested, and the marijuana was sent to the state Crime Laboratory for positive identification and weight.

Smith is charged with Unauthorized Use of Property to Facilitate a Crime and Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver. His bond set at $75,000.

Joy ride and stolen cologne lead to charges for Arkadelphia man

A game of truth or dare turned into a criminal act for an Arkadelphia man.

Brody Madison Wells, 19, is facing charges of Breaking or Entering after his arrest on the morning of Sept. 13.

Police were called to an apartment complex where Wells lives on Country Club Road for a neighbor’s report of a vehicle being tampered with. The resident said he heard his vehicle honk outside and, peering out the window, noticed that it had been moved from its parking spot and parked in a different orientation than he left it. Checking the vehicle, he discovered a bottle of cologne was missing.

He further told police that, during this time, he noticed a white male standing in the wood line south of the apartment complex. Officers responded and located the suspicious person, later identified as Wells, who exhibited signs of intoxication.

During an interview with police, Wells admitted that he had been dared to “do something that no one would do” and therefore checked multiple vehicles in the parking lot before locating the one that “looked the best.” Finding the key fob inside, Wells said that he cranked the vehicle and drove it to a nearby church before returning it to the apartments, taking with him a bottle of cologne.

Wells is also being charged with Theft by Receiving for an unrelated case regarding a firearm reported stolen in Caddo Valley. A resident there told authorities that his grandson had purchased a Glock 9mm pistol from Wells, and suspected the gun was stolen. Police ran the gun’s serial number through a criminal database to learn that it had indeed been reported stolen in August to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Wells — wearing a court-ordered ankle monitor from the previous arrest — was located at Walnut Square Apartments, where he was working for the property owner. Wells reportedly admitted to being in possession of the firearm; a police affidavit doesn’t indicate whether Wells admitted knowing the firearm had been reported stolen.
