Clark County reports July labor force of 9,563

Clark County’s unemployment rate for July 2025, not seasonally adjusted, is at 5.7%, according to a  preliminary county-by-county report released by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.

According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 9,593 persons with 9,044 employed and 549 unemployed. The unemployment rate rose 1.5% from the May report of 4.2%. During that period the labor force fell by 63 from 9,656 persons.

For the same period in 2024, Clark County reported an unemployment rate of 5.9% with a labor force of 8,595 persons. Clark County had the second-highest jobless rate among each of its six neighboring counties in July, second to Nevada County.

On the far eastern edge of the state, in the Arkansas Delta, Phillips County (Helena-West Helena) held the highest jobless rate in July 2025, with 8% of its 4,632 employable population without jobs. In the far northwestern corner of the state, Benton County (Springdale) reported the lowest unemployment rate in Arkansas, with 3.2% of its labor force of 170,262 without jobs. Neighboring Madison (Huntsville) and Washington (Fayetteville) reported similarly low unemployment rates of 3.3% and 3.5%, respectively.

Statewide, Arkansas’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate was at 3.7% in July, no change since June. There were 1.37 millions Arkansans employed in May. The U.S. jobless rate is at 4.2%, or one-tenth of a percentage point higher than the June report, with an estimated 163 million Americans working.

The unemployment rate for Dallas County (Fordyce) rose to 4.7%, compared to 3.7% reported in May. Dallas County reports a labor force of 2,745 persons with 130 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Hot Spring County (Malvern) rose to 4.7%, compared to 3.8% in May. Hot Spring County reports a labor force of 13,311 persons with 626 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Montgomery County (Mt. Ida) rose to 5.2%, compared to 4% in May. Montgomery County reports a labor force of 3,101 persons with 161 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Pike County (Murfreesboro) rose to 4.3%, compared to 3.6% in May. Pike County reports a labor force of 4,208 persons with 182 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Nevada County (Prescott) rose to 6.3%, compared to 4.6% in May. Nevada County reports a labor force of 2,547 persons with 160 unemployed.

The unemployment rate for Ouachita County (Camden) rose to 5.4%, compared to 4.1% in May. Ouachita County reports a labor force of 8,909 persons with 482 unemployed.
