The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, April 28
8:15 a.m.
A resident at the 2800 block of Walnut Street reported damage to a fire hydrant at her curb. She said she had heard a loud crash at about 1:15 a.m. and looked out her window, but didn’t observe anything. After daylight she ventured outside to find the hydrant damaged. Given the tire tracks off the roadway and the direction the hydrant was leaning, an officer speculated that an eastbound vehicle had struck the hydrant and left the scene. The water department was notified of the damages.
8:59 p.m.
A woman complained that a known male continuously drives by her home yelling obscenities, and sending her harassing text messages. She was advised to send any evidence of the harassment to the prosecutor’s office and request an order of protection.
10:52 p.m.
Officers were summoned to the 200 block of North 22nd Street for a report of a shouting match between a male and female. Upon arrival contact was made with both subjects, one of whom was expressing anger over a broken windshield. An officer located a piece of brick nearby and observed scratches to the hood in addition to the shattered windshield. Talking with the owner, she named a third party she believed to be responsible for the damages, and provided a timeframe for the incident. Police reviewed a neighbor’s security footage but couldn’t make out a vehicle make or model.
Tuesday, April 29
4:30 p.m.
Police responded to 1901 Pine St. for a report of a large truck that had pulled down a power line. The caller advised that the truck, equipped with a lift boom on the back, had turned from Pine onto 19th Street. Officers made contact with the driver, Robert Ussery, 35, at a 19th Street address, and learned that he had removing a fallen tree but was unaware of the damaged power line. With no valid CDL to drive the loader and no registration or license, Ussery was cited for failure to register a vehicle, no liability insurance and driving a commercial vehicle without a CDL. The caller was advised to contact AT&T about the downed line.
9:47 p.m.
Officers were called to a domestic disturbance at the 500 block of South 4th Street. Speaking with both involved parties and finding no evidence of physical injury, neither wished to pursue charges and agreed to separate for the evening.

Felony incident still under investigation: Aggravated assault, 2600 block of Caddo Street.
Thursday, May 1
4:10 p.m.
Officers responded to Pioneer Inn, 115 N. 10th St., for a complaint of a broken window. An innkeeper escorted police to the room where the incident occurred. Officers observed two broken windows and a large amount of glass on the sidewalk and parking lot, consistent with having been broken from the inside. The room’s door was wide open, and the occupant inside; stepping outside per officers’ request, the tenant admitted to purposefully breaking the window with a broom. The innkeeper said the tenant, who has been residing there the past eight or so months, had broken windows in the past. The innkeeper was advised of warrant procedures, and officers left the scene without further incident.

2:05 p.m.
Administration at Twin Rivers reported that she had been made aware of two incidents involving a CNA making racial slurs directed at patients. Proper notification had been made to corporate offices, but a police report was also needed.
