Jerry Jones

Jerry Allen Jones, age 77, of Friendship/Donaldson communities, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

He was born on May 19, 1947, in Saint Louis, Missouri. Jerry was the son of Earl Jones and Winnie Wilma Harger. He is preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Wilma “Earlene” Morrison and Mildred “Cookie” Wall; and his special family member Preston “Pete” Morrison.

Jerry met the love of his life, Jan Ellen Bell, at Long Beach, California in 1973 and got married on July 14, 1974 and they have treasured each other ever since. Jerry was most known for how much he loved and took care of his family and friends, especially Jan. He was Protestant in his faith. He loved hunting, fishing, puzzles, reading, and playing computer games. Jerry also coached baseball and softball. Jerry will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jan Jones; his two chidlren, Jenna Nell (Brad) Jones Jordan and Jared (Courtney) Jones; his four grandchildren, Logan Jordan, Brianna Jordan, Brendan Jordan, and Levi Ross; his three brothers, James Saunders, Gene Saunders, and Paul Hecker; his special family member, Mary “Tootle” Morrison; and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home-Ruggles Wilcox Chapel, 517 Clay Street, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home-Ruggles Wilcox Chapel.

Cremation Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home- Arkadelphia.
