Free Tree Friday set for April 4 in Arkadelphia

The Clark County Natural Resources Conservation Service will host a Free Tree Friday event on April 4, 2025, at the USDA Service Center at 640 6th St., Arkadelphia. The event lasts from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Residents can celebrate Arbor Day by obtaining up to five free seedlings; species will include a mix of cherrybark oak, eastern redbud, persimmon, red mulberry, river birch and/or Shumard oak.

Funding is provided through a grant from the USDA Forest Service.

Participation in a collection event is free and anonymous to anyone. Commonly collected items include old/outdated pesticides such as calcium arsenate, 2,4,5-T, sodium cyanide, lindane, and chlordane, as well as registered pesticides unusable because they have been exposed to the elements or have been held over from previous growing seasons such as glyphosate products and 2,4-D.
