Arkadelphia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently recognized The Hamburger Barn with a Certificate of Award for the Proper Use, Correct Display, and Patriotic Presentation of the Flag of the United States of America.
Arkadelphia Chapter Regent, Terry Hagood, and Judy Honey, Flag of the USA Local Committee, presented the Certificate to Bobby Younger and his staff.
Younger has operated The Hamburger Barn in Arkadelphia for 30 years.
He always wanted to have a permanent flag display. More than five years ago, fellow Arkadelphians Bobby Bunn and Arlon Seale assisted in making his dream a reality. Also, the Arkadelphia Fire Department assists when it’s time to replace the flags. Due to the flags being displayed outdoors in weather extremes, Younger tries to replace the flags every six months.

The Arkadelphia DAR Chapter awards two Certificates annually. Previous awards have been presented to these patriotic Arkadelphians: Jean Butler, Arkadelphia Lions Club, the Lowell Connell family, and Terry Dewitt.
