Investigators with Arkansas State Police are probing an apparent homicide that took place in the Hot Spring County town of Rockport on Sunday afternoon.
The agency’s Criminal Investigation Division was requested when Rockport police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Division Street. The call came in at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025. Officers arrived at the residence to find 50-year-old Marisela McHan dead inside with an apparent gunshot wound.
Her husband, Floyd McHan, 50, was arrested and transported to the Hot Spring County Detention Center, where he was being held on initial police charges of first-degree murder and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Marisela McHan’s body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the official cause and manner of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
