Building Permits: New home going up in North Ridge Estates

The City of Arkadelphia issued 12 building permits with a combined construction value of an estimated $907,510 for the month of January 2025.

Records were obtained from the city’s Building Department under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act and include valuations of work except where omitted from reports. Here’s a rundown of permits issued in January 2025:

A new single-family home is being erected at 108 Shepherd Loop, which is Lot 86 of the North Ridge Estates subdivision. The owner is listed as Bauxite-based Broken S Investments, belonging to Gary Smith. The contractor, KSmith Building Co. LLC, is registered to Derrick Smith of Benton. Maumelle’s Tim Landreth Home Design is listed as architect for the $552,510 job.

Hardman Lumber Company, 3026 Pine St., hired Irwin Seale’s namesake construction company to erect an “open cover building” for a $140,000 price tag.

Richard Womack’s JMRW Properties filed for a permit to demolish an apartment building at 4 Asbury Ct. The complex, owned by JMRW Properties, was severely damaged in a fire in 2024. The cost to raze the place is an estimated $15,000.

As previously reported at arkadelphian.com, the former Western Sizzlin’ restaurant, now owned by Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy Store’s Retail Buildings Inc., is in the process of demolition at 106 W.P. Malone Dr. Cornerstone Construction LLC of Russellville is being paid $20,000 for the job.

Scott Nelson Construction was hired to remodel an office space at 2901 Pine St. to make way for a loan production office. The owner of the building is Gravel Family Ltd. of Dallas. As reported in January, Bank of Delight announced its plans to open the office to serve the greater Southwest Arkansas region. Nelson is being paid $30,000 for his share of the work.

Vo Construction, of Arkadelphia, was hired to enclose a garage at James Rollins’ Arkadelphia Tire & Outfitters, 1904 Pine St. The job is estimated to cost $3,000.

Verizon is installing an antenna on an existing tower, owned by SBA Network Services, at 24 Red Hill Road. Integrity Management was hired for the $55,000 job, with TES of Irving, Texas, serving as architect.

The Little Rock-based Arkansas Sign & Neon was hired by Southwest Auto Collection to install new signage at its remodeled Ford dealership on North 10th Street. The job cost $10,000.

Another car dealership at 2505 Barkman St., owned by Tan Nguyen, also filed to install new signage for a cost of $1,000. The permit did not name a contractor.

Church of God, 111 N. 19th St., hired Walker Roofing for a shingle removal and replacement for a cost of $11,000.
