CADDO VALLEY, Arkansas — Firemen spent a portion of a bitterly cold Wednesday morning fighting a fire at an auto repair shop.

At about 8:16 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, the Caddo Valley Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire at Mobile Fleet Service & Wrecker, located at the Lower Dam Pike intersection with state Highway 7.

The fire caused significant damage to the front exterior of the building. Firemen from Caddo Valley and Arkadelphia had the flames out within minutes of arrival, and stayed at the scene for about 2 hours probing for the cause and searching for residual hot spots. Officials were unsure of the exact origin and cause of the blaze, which remains under investigation.

“We’re looking at a couple of different things that could have caused it,” Caddo Valley Fire Chief Chris Sparks told arkadelphian.com Wednesday morning.

There were no injuries. At least one employee was present at the time the fire was reported, Sparks said. While the shop may be closed until repairs can be made, Mobile Fleet also provides mechanical and towing services on the road.
