Robert Lewis Wright, Jr., age 77, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs. He was born August 9, 1947, in Newport, the son of the late Robert Lewis and Emma Jean Anthony Wright, Sr.
Robert was a 1966 graduate of Peake High School and he attended Henderson State College. He was a retired machine operator at Danfoss. Robert was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He enjoyed fishing and working in his yard in his free time.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one aunt, Sadie Ivory.
Survivors are his wife, Rosie Scott Wright of Arkadelphia, one son, Harrell Yarber (Cynthia) of Arkadelphia, two daughters, Valerie Buckley and Veronia Burks both of Hot Springs, four grandchildren, Chelsie Mason, Matia Burks, Alexis Burks and Sierra Haynes, one great-grandchild, Ramsey Young, his best friend, Mack Peoples of Little Rock, two sister-in-laws, Virginia Scott Hollingshead and Fannie Scott, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 29, 2024, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Pastor T.W. Scott officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
Interment will be in Clayborn Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Stelton Hill, Aaron Hill, Darell Middleton, Jamaal Hollingshead, Ronnie Bailey and Fred Middleton.
