Daniel Jacob Pipkin, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Arkadelphia, AR on November 3, 2024. Dan “Danny” was born in Hot Springs, AR on February 20, 1943, to Joyce Clarence Pipkin and Marjorie (Bird) Pipkin.
Danny married the love of his life, Georgia Ann Briggs on June 7, 1963. After attending the University of Arkansas and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, they moved to Arkadelphia where he began his lifelong career in the aluminum industry and started a family. He was well loved by his production team and co-workers.
A true family man, Danny was a giving and supportive father of four, grandfather of nine and great- grandfather of six.
Growing up in Magnet Cove, AR, he was a talented artist both musically (guitar & banjo) and through drawing. He was also a star athlete (All-State football player, 1959) and a vintage car enthusiast. He loved watching the Razorbacks anytime they played! His artistic skills continued throughout his life including drawing cartoons for the Daily Siftings Herald and drawing characters for cakes decorated by his wife, Georgia, of 61 years. Together they built a family of 19 of which Danny’s kindness and devotion was passed on. His greatest passion was his love for his children and grandchildren, especially watching his great-grandchildren play sports. His love of having a warm fireplace for his family to gather in front of in the winter caused “Nanny and Poppy’s” to be a favorite place for family. Dan believed in hard work, and he set a strong example for his family to follow. Even in retirement, he always stayed busy and started a stump grinding business, which he operated with his older son, Jeff, for 20 years.
Danny is survived by his wife, Georgia Ann (Briggs), sister Ramona Crippen (John), daughter Dana Pipkin, son Jeff Pipkin, John Pipkin (Laurel), and Christi Beard (Shannon); nine grandchildren: Joshua Pipkin, Kelsie Brewer (Trent), Allie Sparks (Jacob), Kirsten Sims (David), Lindsey Pipkin (Emily), Colton Pipkin, Branson Beard (Amy), Evan Cox, and Katie Pipkin, and six great-grandchildren: Jay Thomas Beard, Deaton Jacob Sims, Rosie Mae Sparks, Dani Elise Sims, Mickey Pipkin-Stephens, Jed Wallace Beard.
