Bracing for spike in employee health insurance, Clark County justices to mull options in special meeting

Facing a sharp increase in employee health insurance costs, Clark County justices of the peace are preparing to weigh options this week in a special-called meeting of the Quorum Court.

County Judge Troy Tucker told justices Monday that, come 2025, employee health insurance is expected to jump $100,000 over the current price.

The county has invited the Little Rock-based Hatcher Agency Insurance Group to an informational meeting Friday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m. in the Clark County Court Complex Building, 419 Clay St., Arkadelphia. Quorum Court meetings are open to the public.

“At this meeting we will be discussing insurance options for next year due to expected rate increases,” notes a memo to justices.

Hatcher touts itself as Arkansas’s top producing employee benefits agency and the largest organically grown employee benefits agency in the country.
