James Willie Courtney was born on Dec. 24, 1980, and went home to be with the Lord on the morning of April 21, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Jo (Trusty) Hyman, formerly of Donaldson, Arkansas, and his father, James Willie Courtney Jr., formerly of Sheridan, Arkansas.
He leaves a bonus father, Robert Hyman of Malvern; two sisters, Denise (New) Gershner and her husband Josh, and Leah (Courtney) Dill of Bismarck, Arkansas; and two brothers, Brandon and Bradley Courtney of Malvern, Arkansas. He also leaves six nephews and nieces; four great-nieces; several cousins; and several friends and acquaintances from all over.
James was known as a person with a kind, giving heart and a warm personality. He loved to spend time at the Ouachita River and DeGray Lake camping and fishing. All who have had the pleasure of knowing him during his short 43 years with us will miss his warm personality and laughter and feel their lives have been greatly enriched by knowing him.
