
Although cloudy skies are ahead for Sunday, Easter weekend should prove to be spring-like and pleasant.
With mostly sunny skies on Saturday, highs in the Arkadelphia area should top out at 76˚F, followed by mostly cloudy skies in the evening and a low around 59˚F.
Expect those clouds to continue into Sunday, with highs in the upper 70s and calm winds. Lows Sunday night will be in the lower 60s.
A Severe Weather Outlook shows a swath of western Arkansas to have the potential Monday for strong to severe thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service in Little Rock places the Arkadelphia area under a 15-19% probability for severe weather on April 1. Chances are higher in the northwestern portion of the state.
Locally, there’s a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms on an otherwise breezy, cloudy Monday after 1 p.m. Looking into Monday night, chances for rain increases to 60% with lows in the mid-50s.
Some rain is expected into the earlier part of the week, with sunny skies and cool temps returning on Wednesday.
