Leola Lavaughn Caddy Smith, age 85, of Mabelvale formerly of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday March 7, 2024, at her home. She was born on May 10, 1938, in Manning, the daughter of the late Frank and Addie Denton Caddy.
Lavaughn was a member of Oak Grove Church in Malvern. She worked as a secretary for Smith Ditching Company for many years. Lavaughn enjoyed collecting elephants and always carried her rock hammer looking for unique rocks.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vance Smith, one sister, Nadine Kendrick, and one daughter, Sheila Smith.
Lavaughn is survived by two sons, David Carl Smith of Mabelvale, and Gary Vance Smith of Arkadelphia, one daughter, Shadow Smith Pippin, seven grandchildren, Darwin, Amanda Jo, David Shayne, Shannah, Michelle, Alexa, and Deanna, nine great-grandchildren, Caila Marie, Brittney, Michael, Autumn, Natalie, Alexa, Korben, Brooklyn, and Jaxon, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Welch Funeral Home with Tom Hartley officiating.
