
Mae Elizabeth Thomason, age 88, of Bismarck, passed from this life on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Arkansas Hospice at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs. She was born September 12, 1935, in Amity, the daughter of the late Lee and Cleon Garner Watkins.
Mae was a 1954 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. She owned and operated Thomason Realty Company at Lake DeGray. Mae taught Sunday school for many years at Second Baptist Church and Third Street Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. She was a member of Bismarck First Baptist Church. Mae was a past member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association, Arkansas Realtor Association, Clark County Extension Service and the Historical Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herschel Thomason, one son, Frank Thomason, one sister, Estelle Davis and one brother, Gilbert Watkins.
Mae is survived by one daughter, Felicia Hardage (Terry) of Bismarck, one son, Terry Thomason (Sherry) of Bismarck, one daughter in law, May Lynn Thomason of Des Arc, one brother, Troy Watkins (Ruby) of Palestine, TX, one sister, Wanda Mauldin of Prescott, seven grandchildren, Jeremy Thomason, Jacob Thomason, Joshua Thomason, Joseph Thomason, Courtney Dixon Wilson, Brian Hardage and Rodney Hardage, fifteen great grandchildren, and bonus granddaughter, Sara Janis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Hal Dixon officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in DeRoche Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Thomason, Jacob Thomason, Bobby Toland, Larry Becker, Ralph Hughes, Danny Bowen, Jeremy Arndt and Joe Beeler.
