
Jewel Deane (Scott) Lea passed away on September 12, 2022, at the age of 94. She was born on January 23, 1928, in Louann, Arkansas, to William Jackson and Eula Lee Scott.
Jewel was the youngest of 12 children. She was a member of Manning Baptist Church. Jewel loved to paint in her coloring books, making some beautiful pictures; she also loved to quilt and do puzzle books. Jewel was the author of two books about her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters; four brothers; her husband, Garland Lea; grandson, Dustin Lea; and great-granddaughter, Bailee Brooke Potter.
Jewel is survived by her daughter, Ruth Clayton of Fordyce; two sons, Ed (Mona) Lea of Conway and Jackie (La Vonda) Lea of Arkadelphia; six grandchildren, Todd (Lark) Clayton of Flippin, Tammy (Doug) Wills of El Dorado, Shay (Gerrit) Gerritsen of Prosper, Texas, Whitney (Wink) Moreland of El Dorado, Tanner (Laura) Lea of Little Rock, and Landon (Casey) Lea of Benton; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, at Sparkman Cemetery with Doug Wills officiating.

Pallbearers are Don Morehead, Tanner Lea, Landon Lea, Todd Clayton, Gerrit Gerritsen and Wink Moreland.
