Rod served for over 30 years at various Churches of Christ in Arkansas, Louisiana, Virginia, Ohio and Indiana.

Frances was a 1954 graduate of Peake High School. She worked in the cafeteria at Peake High School, Ione Bynum Childcare and later retired from Ouachita Baptist University after 20 years.

After his service in the Army, John returned to work at the Naval Ammunition Depot, then National Fireworks, in East Camden, as an Inspector.
