In a two-hour meeting Thursday, Henderson Chancellor Chuck Ambrose addressed the Arkansas State University System Board of Trustees and fielded questions from each trustee. The board also allowed public comment from nine individuals, many of them among the tenured faculty whose programs are being “taught out.”

Students in Mrs. Ashley Wesley’s Foundations and Methods of Teaching classes are able to also participate in Educators Rising, an organization designed to offer more opportunities to students interested in going in to teaching as adults.

Henderson State University Teachers College will provide an alternative path for non-licensed employees working in Pre-K settings to earn a first-time teachers license in Early Childhood Pre-K.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT: World Cultures Day
During the event there was representation from Samoa, Indonesia, China, India, Malawi, Mexico, Argentina, El Salvador, Poland, Peru, and South Korea. Presenters brought artifacts, family heirlooms, traditional food, and PowerPoint presentations to represent their cultures. Many also dressed in traditional clothing.
Henderson to graduate 475 on May 6
The event will be held in the Garrison Center Ballroom beginning at 9 a.m. Graduates have been assigned specific times to arrive at intervals throughout the day.
