While the Goza Middle School project has been completed, the voters are still waiting on that new elementary school. “Part of this application is for that [elementary school],” Superintendent Karla Neathery explained to board members and about a dozen AHS students.
Receiving a Badger Pride award during Tuesday’s school board meeting were nurses Beth Hasley (Arkadelphia High School), Spenser O’Brien (Perritt Primary School) and Macy Jones (Peake Elementary School).
Following the decision, board member Clark Tennyson questioned the district’s handle on quarantines, asking if recent actions taken by district principals have been effective.
According to documents provided to The Arkadelphian, planned capital projects to be discussed include the construction of a new primary school for grades 3-5, converting a new elementary facility for use as a K-4 school, a security project at Goza Middle School, and replacing the high school building with a new two-story facility.
