The Arkansas Department of Education has released its school letter grades for the 2025-2026 school year.
The state’s top education officials reported this week that fewer Arkansas schools received failing grades, which are assigned by the education department based on the Arkansas Teaching, Learning & Assessment System, or ATLAS.

Within the Arkadelphia Public School District, the AHS letter grade improved from a C to a B since the last report, while both Goza Middle School and Peake Elementary School maintained the letter grades they received last year. The district itself maintained a C grade.
In Gurdon, Cabe Elementary School’s letter grade improved from a C to a B since the last report. There was no change with the high school’s grade.
In the Amity area, Centerpoint High School improved from a B to an A, and the elementary school improved from a C to a B.
Elsewhere in the region, Ouachita High School scored an A in the recent report, an improvement over last year’s B grade, while the elementary school dropped a letter grade since the last report. Bismarck’s elementary school improved from a C to a B, while its high school and middle school both fell a letter grade. In the Ouachita County district of Harmony Grove, which serves students in the neighboring Dallas County town of Sparkman, the high school earned a C — last year it appealed the original grade — while the elementary school fell from an A to a B.
