HOT SPRINGS — Arkansas Cardiology and the Baptist Health Heart Institute have opened a new satellite clinic. The clinic, located in Hot Springs, opened its doors in June 2026. A ribbon-cutting event was held July 14.
“Baptist Health Heart Institute Satellite Clinic-Hot Springs reflects a continued commitment to providing exceptional cardiovascular care to communities across Arkansas,” the hospital system said in a news release. “The new clinic brings trusted, world-class heart care closer to home for the residents of Hot Springs and the surrounding areas.”
“Our dedicated team of physicians and providers is honored to serve the Hot Springs area,” said Judi Sams, director of patient access with Arkansas Cardiology. “We look forward to building lasting relationships with our patients and their families, and we can’t wait to meet all of our new patients.”
The Hot Springs clinic features a distinguished team of cardiovascular specialists ready to serve the community:
- Michael Cross, MD, FACC, FACP, RPVI: Dr. Cross, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, received his degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he also completed his residency and fellowships. Dr. Cross, an interventional cardiologist, specializes in percutaneous coronary and peripheral intervention, providing routine, preventative, and emergency cardiovascular care. Dr. Cross is board-certified in ABIM-Internal Medicine, ABIM-Cardiovascular Disease, NBE, RPVI, and CBNC, and ABIM-Interventional Cardiology.
- Michael Huber, MD, FACC: Dr. Huber served 17 years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, including a particularly rewarding time at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, where he cared for sick and injured soldiers air evacuated from Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Huber earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, followed by a fellowship in General Cardiology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
- Aaron Strobel, MD: Dr. Strobel is a native of Little Rock. He attended college at the University of Arkansas, studying biological engineering, and then went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Over the next decade, Dr. Strobel trained at the University of Colorado, where he completed his internal medicine residency, chief residency year, cardiovascular disease fellowship and was honored to be the chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Strobel stayed at the University of Colorado, completing a two-year interventional cardiology fellowship and concentrating on coronary, peripheral and structural interventions.
- Evan Watts, MD: Dr. Watts received his medical education from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where he also completed his residency in internal medicine. He completed fellowship training in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
- Ashley Loe, APRN, is a Hot Springs native. She completed her registered nursing degree in 2006, working at National Park Medical Center before moving to Little Rock to work toward her Master of Science in Nursing degree. Loe graduated from UAMS in 2018, and returned home to Hot Springs to continue to serve her local community and practice her passion for cardiology care.
