TEXARKANA — A Hope woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision while traffic was backed up due to road work on Interstate 30.
According to a preliminary fatal crash summary posted this week by Arkansas State Police, Dorcene Muldrow, 84, was driving west near the 7 mile-marker, in Miller County, when she approached a construction zone that clogged traffic.
The report states that Muldrow drove her 2010 Chevy Equinox into the rear of a 2020 Peterbilt that was stopped in the traffic.
Muldrow perished as a result of the collision. Her body was taken to the coroner’s office. Her passenger, 63-year-old Charles Bradley, also of Hope, was taken to Christus Saint Michaels Hospital in TEXarkana for injuries not listed in the report.
Cpl. Bernard Pettit investigated the crash, noting that it happened on dry roads and under clear skies at about 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26.
Editor’s Note: Preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality reports sometimes contain information that turns out to be inaccurate. Typical errors include spelling errors in names, or incorrect ages; outdated hometown information; vehicle direction of travel; and incident times. The ASP sometimes corrects these errors in updated reports. ASP reports omit names of passengers or drivers who are not injured, even in instances when uninjured drivers may appear to be at fault. The reports also omit names of juveniles who were injured or killed, although we report those names when obtained through other sources.
