The Larry and Kay Ferguson Family, owners of Maranatha Farms LLC, of Arkadelphia has been chosen as Clark County’s Farm Family of the Year.
The Fergusons, along with their sons Bryant, Kyle and Stephen, have a sizable row crop operation of rice, soybeans and corn on 5,000 acres east of the Ouachita River. The family also owns and operates a pecan plantation they harvest annually.
As the Clark County Farm Family of the Year, the Fergusons will join 74 other county farm families in vying for district and state recognition as the Arkansas Farm Family of the Year, which will be announced in December at a banquet at the Wyndham Riverfront in North Little Rock.
Chief sponsors of the program in Clark County are Farm Credit, the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas, and Clark County Farm Bureau.
