Head AHS Badger football coach Trey Schucker announced Thursday, April 23, 2026, that he is leaving Arkadelphia to take another coaching position in Central Arkansas.

Coach Schucker, who led the Badgers for six successful seasons with an overall 60-15 record, is uprooting Arkadelphia to coach the Sylvan Hills Bears, a 6A program based in Sherwood.

Schucker called it an “honor and a privilege” to lead the Badgers who, under his leadership, were 4A-7 champs three years running and had two additional post-season playoff runs.

“The memories I have made here will never be forgotten,” Schucker said in a Facebook post, “and Arkadelphia will forever be a special place to the Schuckers. The support you all have given us during these years has always meant to much to us.”

Schucker said he made the decision to accept the Sylvan Hills spot “after much thought and prayer.”
