At its March 2026 meeting, Clark Country Retired Teachers heard from Tommie Rogers, community health nurse specialist.
Rogers goes to schools and community groups to encourage healthy living. Some of the healthy tips she recommends are to stay active (walking, exercising, swimming, etc.), avoid tobacco, drink lots of water daily with few sodas or other sweet drinks, eat healthy (lots of fruits/vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, lean protein, and low salt), get 7-9 hours of sleep, engage in mentally stimulating activities, and don’t forget your wellness doctor visits with recommended screenings.
CCRTA took goodies to Clark County schools to show appreciation to all the active teachers. Also, $150 was collected for The CALL, which helps adoptive parents in Clark County.
