The following incidents were gathered from reports filed March 16-23, 2026, at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested or cited individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, March 16
12:31 p.m.
Police were called to the Baptist Health Medical Center emergency room, where a Caddo Street woman was being treated for a dog bite. The woman said she was in her backyard when a neighbor’s dog entered the property. The 69-year-old attempted to flee the attack but wasn’t fast enough, and the dog bit her on the back of the leg. An officer responded to the residence to learn that the dog, a pit bull, had been chained to a rotten limb. The dog’s owner, Jason Grey, 43, was cited for violating the city’s pit bull ordinance and leash law.

2:40 p.m.
An officer was called to Nightingale Nursing Home, 2701 Twin Rivers Dr., for a civil dispute regarding the power of attorney over one resident.
7:47 p.m.
Police were called to Dollar General, 2727 Caddo St., for a store complaint of a customer actively stealing merchandise. Approached by the officer, the suspect, Brandy Smith-Parsons, 48, of Gurdon, admitted to the theft. She surrendered the stolen merchandise from her purse and was arrested for theft of property.
Thursday, March 19
10:42 a.m.
Officers responded to the loading dock at Walmart, where a trucker had backed over a pair of bollards.
12:50 p.m.
A Gurdon woman reported being involved in a hit-and-run fender-bender at 9th and Pine streets, identifying the at-fault motorist as a SCAT driver who was rude when confronted about the accident. She was advised to remain at the scene and phone police immediately in the event of another accident. The other driver and bus had not been identified at the time the report was filed.
1:03 p.m.
Police aided the U.S. Postal Service in relocating a package that was delivered to the wrong address. By 6 p.m. the package, which had been incorrectly addressed by the shipper, was returned to the post office.
1:15 p.m.
The owner of a moving company filed a report of civil jurisdiction over a disputed check a customer had written him.
Friday, March 20
Juvenile report: Endangering the welfare of a minor
8:52 p.m.
Officers were called to Tiger Mart for a possible domestic disturbance in the bathroom. Prior to arrival they were informed that the individuals were leaving and that one of the involved parties was wearing underwear. An officer observed the suspect, later identified as Anthony Rashae Leeper, 31, in the parking lot of Arkadelphia Pawn & Gun. Leeper, wearing a T-shirt and underwear, jogged away as the policeman pulled up; commands for him to stop went unheeded, and the officer lost sight of him. Police from multiple agencies then canvassed the area and were directed to Chateau Apartments, where someone was hiding beneath a truck in the parking lot. There, an upstairs resident pointed an officer to a storage closet below his balcony, where Leeper ultimately exited and was taken into custody. Leeper, who had felony warrants and initially provided a false name, was arrested on charges of criminal trespass, obstructing governmental operations, fleeing on foot and public intoxication.
Saturday, March 21
12:23 a.m.
Police investigated a possible arson of a storage shed at 208 Clay St.
1:18 p.m.
A downtown shop owner reported a known male made threats and used obscenities in front of other customers. The proprietor was advised to contact the city attorney to pursue criminal charges and to seek a no-contact order, and to phone police should the person return.
1:23 p.m.
An Evonshire Drive woman reported damage to her garage door in what she believed was a possible attempt to burglarize her residence. An officer reviewed home security footage but saw nothing indicative of breaking or entering. Her residence was placed on extra patrol.
6:40 p.m.
Responding to Elliston Place Apartments, 222 N. 20th St., for a complaint of a male kicking and throwing lumber at a door. The suspect was detained while officers tried to make contact with the apartment resident, to no avail. The suspect, Tyrin Deshon Miller, 19, was released and advised to stay away from the residence.

Monday, March 23
2:55 a.m.
Officers were called to 3rd and Crittenden streets for a report of an unconscious male lying on the sidewalk. As first responders were checking vitals, dispatchers advised that the man, 53-year-old Mark Chambers, had a search waiver on file as a parolee. His person was searched, leading to the discovery of a glass pipe. The instrument was seized, and Chambers was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
7:41 a.m.
Police returned to Elliston Place Apartments, this time for a report that someone had thrown a cinder block through a car windshield. Contact was made with Tyrin Miller, who confessed to the act and was arrested for criminal mischief.
A female reported losing her driver’s license, credit card and $25 cash while at a gathering on Caddo Street.

Sunday, March 22
9:15 p.m.
Responding to a single-vehicle accident on Arkansas Highway 53 near Whelen Springs, an Arkansas Game & Fish game warden located the driver in the woods near the scene of the crash. The driver, Kenneth Ray Ross, 61, of Gurdon, exhibited signs of intoxication. No field sobriety tests were conducted given the unsafe location near the accident. Ross agreed to submit a breath test at the jail, where he blew over the limit and was arrested for DWI-1st, driving with a suspended license and failure to maintain control.
